Job Description

Job Objectives:

Apply macro merchandise proposals to new and revamp stores.
Facilitate the compilation of equipment and aisle sign requirements for new and revamp stores.
Interpret and validate an understanding of the dominant clientele for each proposed store.
Assist in reallocating space in existing stores to support strategic changes.
Analyze store performance by category and make informed space allocation decisions to maximize profitability.
Ensure correct flow and adjacencies on each store plan to support the prescribed chain store image and strategic navigation plan.
Record space allocation on each store plan for future reference, planning, and communication.
Communicate store plan proposals to relevant stakeholders.
Allocate the actual assortment onto the floor plan.

Desired Experience & Qualification:

Job Knowledge:

Essential: Sound understanding of consumer shopping habits, competitor activity, and market players in the Health and Beauty retail sector, as well as consumer demographics and retail merchandising.
Desirable: Basic understanding of category adjacencies within the Health, Wellness, and Beauty sectors.

Job Related Skills:

Essential: Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel (intermediate level).
Desirable: Knowledge of Blue Yonder CatMan Floor Planning application, CAD computer skills, space planning software experience, puzzle building ability, conceptual and spatial understanding, and the ability to plan and visualize physical translations. Good written and verbal communication skills are also essential.

Job Experience:

2-3 years’ experience in store operations management or shop floor merchandise planning (essential).
Basic store design experience using CAD and Blue Yonder CatMan (desirable).
Experience in visual merchandising or space planning.
Client marketing experience with an FMCG supplier.
