Job Description
Overview:
As a Fitter: Home & Personal Care, you will maintain engineering equipment to world-class standards while supporting the Maintenance Coordinator. Your role involves embedding maintenance processes within the organization, ensuring the integrity of the plant, and optimizing plant and device performance to ensure high availability, product quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Support:
  • Provide expert support to shift-based teams during operations.
  • Act as a functional expert in problem-solving when required.
• Running Repairs:
  • Participate in carrying out repairs on plant equipment.
• Problem Solving:
  • Apply appropriate problem-solving approaches to resolve issues during routine activities.
• Planned Maintenance:
  • Contribute to maintenance planning meetings by offering suggestions and clarifying required work.
• Housekeeping & Safety:
  • Operate safely at all times, identifying and correcting unsafe work practices.
  • Ensure plant availability remains above 95%.
• Seasonal Responsibilities:
  • Work shifts during peak seasons, serve as an aseptic controller, and assist with production activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Core Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in maintenance systems and engineering standards.
  • Qualified Fitter with knowledge of high-speed packaging machinery and aseptic controls.
• Academic Requirements:
  • Minimum NTC3 qualification, with matric-level mathematics and science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with high numeracy skills.
• Leadership Qualities:
  • Ownership, long-term results focus, and proactive thinking.
• Personal Effectiveness:
  • Effective communication, interpersonal skills, integrity, creativity, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of functional experience in a maintenance role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the FMCG industry.
