Sanlam Vacancies – Financial Controller – 12 month contract
What will you do?
This is a specialist financial management role providing high-level support within a business unit. You will collaborate closely with managers to analyze the financial implications of business decisions, driving growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and manage budgets, process account payments, and oversee expense and debt management.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and commentaries.
- Perform financial administration and internal audits.
- Manage payroll and facilitate financial reconciliation processes.
- Support financial management of monthly costs, variance analysis, and recovery for specific clusters.
- Assist in the following actions:
- Hosting management meetings to review cluster performance with Cluster Heads.
- Preparing forecasts and budgetary commentary.
- Managing half-year and year-end closings.
- Reconciling headcount and annual budgets.
- Develop transparency in IT costs and cost drivers.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure effective financial process improvements and controls.
- Translate complex financial data for non-financial and IT technical audiences.
- Identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
What will make you successful in this role?
Qualifications:
- Honours in Finance (CTA preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant finance experience in the IT and/or financial services sector.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong financial expertise with advanced Excel skills.
- Understanding of IT-related concepts and processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
