Sanlam Vacancies – Financial Controller – 12 month contract

What will you do?

This is a specialist financial management role providing high-level support within a business unit. You will collaborate closely with managers to analyze the financial implications of business decisions, driving growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and manage budgets, process account payments, and oversee expense and debt management.
  • Prepare financial reports, statements, and commentaries.
  • Perform financial administration and internal audits.
  • Manage payroll and facilitate financial reconciliation processes.
  • Support financial management of monthly costs, variance analysis, and recovery for specific clusters.
  • Assist in the following actions:
    • Hosting management meetings to review cluster performance with Cluster Heads.
    • Preparing forecasts and budgetary commentary.
    • Managing half-year and year-end closings.
    • Reconciling headcount and annual budgets.
  • Develop transparency in IT costs and cost drivers.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective financial process improvements and controls.
  • Translate complex financial data for non-financial and IT technical audiences.
  • Identify trends and recommend corrective actions.

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualifications:

  • Honours in Finance (CTA preferred).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant finance experience in the IT and/or financial services sector.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong financial expertise with advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of IT-related concepts and processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
