Shoprite Vacancies – Financial Assistant (Centurion)

Shoprite is looking for a Financial Assistant (Centurion) to support financial reporting, month-end processes, and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate daily and weekly financial reports to support decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Assist in stocktake processes to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Execute month-end tasks, including invoice processing, provisions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Perform bank clearings to ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate store float records and oversee asset transfers and scrapping.
  • Support general ledger functions by ensuring timely data entry and accurate financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with management and vendors to resolve financial queries.
  • Manage office stationery orders and ensure budget compliance.
  • Assist with fleet administration, including vehicle orders and management.

Qualifications

  • Matric.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential).

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a financial or bookkeeping role, focusing on reporting and month-end processes.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Office 365 (essential).
  • Knowledge of retail operations and cash management principles (advantageous).

Competencies

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
