Join Mr Price as a Financial Accountant, where you will play a key role in overseeing financial processes, reporting, and ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

1. Account Management:

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile all general ledger accounts.
  • Process month-end journals and produce error-free accounting reports.
  • Analyze financial information to summarize financial status and provide insights.
  • Manage tax audits, returns, and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Review and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Offer financial advice by analyzing operational issues and applying accounting principles.

2. Financial Reporting:

  • Maintain financial records in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Financial Manager (FM) with closing general ledger accounts to deliver monthly trial balances.
  • Prepare monthly GMB booklets for group reporting.
  • Compile VAT and statistical reports for external institutions.
  • Support year-end account preparation and provide information for external audits.
  • Prepare statutory packs for half-year and year-end reporting.
  • Conduct financial commentary analysis and provide insights to stakeholders.

3. Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Reconcile debtor accounts in the general and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Address debtors-related general ledger queries.

4. Other Responsibilities:

  • Approve month-end and ad hoc payments.
  • Prepare statutory annual financial statements (AFS).
  • Interact with auditors to provide required documentation and support.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of post-articles experience (preferred).

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
