Pep Vacancies – Finance Systems Analyst – Northern Suburbs

Purpose of the Job:

The Finance Systems Analyst will ensure that PEP’s financial systems and business processes incorporate industry standards and best practices. This role involves providing support for business processes and technology, enabling robust and scalable solutions that drive financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Improvement & Project Delivery:
    • Lead initiatives focused on improving stability and scalability in financial systems.
    • Translate Business Requirements Documents (BRD) into Functional Requirements Documents (FRD) by engaging with business owners and resolving queries.
    • Collaborate with the Process Improvement Team (PIT) or third parties to ensure accurate interpretation of business needs.
  • Business Support:
    • Provide technical and non-technical support for finance system queries and issues to ensure smooth operations.
  • System Improvements:
    • Gather and document business requirements, working closely with users and business owners to facilitate necessary system changes.
    • Identify and implement system improvements or project initiatives to optimize financial processes.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing:
    • Conduct training sessions and presentations to ensure knowledge transfer across teams and the business.
  • Ad Hoc Queries & Tasks:
    • Handle various business requests and provide solutions to ad hoc tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Systems.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in business systems analysis or finance management.
    • Proven experience in improving financial solutions (integration, reconciliation, accuracy, scalability, and robustness).
    • Experience with software tools such as SQL, JIRA, SAP, Reconart, and Google Cloud Platform.
    • Familiarity with test-driven development methodologies and agile or waterfall project management approaches.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong financial knowledge and understanding of finance systems.
    • Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into actionable business solutions.
    • Proficient in project management, with hands-on experience in software development and documentation.
    • Advanced computer literacy, including MS Office, MS Project, and Google Suite.
    • Ability to explain technical details in non-technical terms, present solutions, and make trade-offs understandable to business stakeholders.
    • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure.
