Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager will oversee the financial controlling function, managing day-to-day financial operations, optimizing cash flow, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring timely and accurate month-end reporting in line with the Group’s deadlines. This role will also be responsible for financial governance, risk management, and maintaining the billing of logistics and distribution fees.
Job Objectives:

Financial Control

Develop and implement strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Regularly assess and improve internal controls to minimize financial risks.

Manage and complete quarterly internal financial controls testing and processes.

General Ledger Management
-
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve accounting processes.
-
Review and manage the general ledger by overseeing transactions generated by operational finance managers.

Cash Flow and Working Capital Optimization
-
Manage cash flow by forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing working capital.

Implement strategies to improve liquidity and minimize cash flow risks.

Month-End Reporting

Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting according to the Group’s deadlines.

Ensure the quality of financial data to support FP&A in preparing comprehensive financial statements and variance analyses for management review.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, particularly within the Shared Services functions.

Provide analysis and recommendations to support strategic business decisions.

Financial Analysis

Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business initiatives, identifying areas for improvement.

Present financial insights to senior management to help guide decision-making.

Statutory Reporting

Prepare and manage the annual external audit process.

Revenue Management
-
Oversee logistics and distribution fee billing, ensuring the maintenance of contract conditions in SAP to manage processes effectively.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Education:
-
CA qualification or completed training contract (Essential)
-
CIMA qualification (Advantageous)
Job Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in FMCG or Pharmaceutical industries, with experience in a JSE-listed company.
Job Knowledge:

Knowledge in managing and developing various costing models

Strong understanding of business processes and risk management governance
-
Proficient in IT, including MS Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BI, SAC), and integrated business analysis tools
-
Strong accounting knowledge.
