Job Description:
As a Finance Logistics Warehouse Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a strong control environment within the logistics and warehouse operations. You will manage stock balancing with third-party service providers, verify and analyze finished goods, and ensure compliance with internal controls. This role involves close collaboration with Finance, Logistics, IT, 3PLs, and Internal Audit teams to identify control weaknesses, implement improvements, and provide essential financial insights for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls within the warehouse environment.
  • Identify and mitigate potential control weaknesses in logistics operations.
  • Continuously assess and analyze the warehouse control environment.
  • Ensure strong inventory control and perform accurate stock counts across warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Monitor goods in transit, finished goods aging, and provide relevant reporting.
  • Reconcile stock balances between Tiger Brands and third-party providers, resolving discrepancies with necessary support.
  • Investigate and analyze stock variances and control breakdowns.
  • Track control performance trends and provide timely financial information to the business.
  • Ensure general ledger and sub-inventories remain balanced at all times.
  • Prepare and analyze financial data to support month-end close within tight reporting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with logistics and internal audit teams to enhance operations and control adherence.
  • Support the preparation of management reports (Actual vs Forecast vs Budget).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse environment.
  • Provide supervision to subordinates and partner with business units for regular stock updates.

Qualifications:

  • Education: BCom in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of experience in a similar finance role, with a proven track record in logistics and warehouse process control.
    • Strong financial reporting and analysis skills, including control design, implementation, and monitoring.
    • Experience in stock reporting, internal audit findings, logistics controls adherence, and system balancing.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise with non-financial teams.
  • Ability to handle complexity and perform under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Oracle.
  • Proven experience in logistics warehouse process control and financial support.
