Shoprite Vacancies – Export Coordinator
Purpose of the Role: The Export Coordinator is responsible for securing all relevant permits, import and export documentation for consignments. This role involves close collaboration with operations and internal departments to ensure the timely dispatch of consignments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive load plans and register files for each consignment.
- Obtain all necessary permits, import, and export certifications for consignments.
- Inform relevant parties of transport requirements.
- Submit EDI requests to the ITD Customs Department.
- Send haulage instructions and final load confirmations to relevant parties.
- Prepare documentation for handover to operations and transporters on the day of loading.
- Ensure timely dispatch of consignments.
- Send pre-alerts and shipping instructions to all relevant parties.
- Obtain final documentation and ensure timely dispatch for customs clearance.
- Close off invoices in all relevant systems.
- Report on Key Performance Areas (KPAs).
Qualifications:
- BCom degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in freight forwarding and clearing.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with SARS documentary processes.
- Knowledge of multi-modal documentation.
- Solutions-oriented with a proactive attitude.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
