Job Advert Summary:
Rand Water is seeking an experienced and proactive Employee Relations Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide effective Industrial Relations advisory services, ensuring labour peace and compliance with employee relations strategies. This role is pivotal in minimizing disputes, driving high productivity, and contributing to the achievement of the organization’s strategic objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- M+4 Legal Qualification or recognized HR qualification with Labour Law as a major (LLB is advantageous)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a unionized environment
- At least 3 years of experience with CCMA/Bargaining Council processes
- Experience in Conciliation, Arbitration, and Facilitation is an advantage
- Ability to coordinate, advise, and assist divisions and departments on industrial relations matters
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Primary Duties:
- Provide strategic Industrial Relations guidance and advisory services to all internal customers at Rand Water
- Represent Rand Water in labour disputes before the CCMA and Bargaining Council
- Schedule and monitor disciplinary hearings
- Implement effective Employee Relations strategies and policies
- Consult with the business on employee relations requirements, manage processes, facilitate discussions, and provide advice and counselling
- Assist in reviewing and drafting policies to align with changing legislation and business needs
- Offer labour advice to both management and employees
- Maintain an Employee Relations data repository in the SAP HR system, assisting in compiling reports as needed
- Perform administrative functions related to all Employee Relations processes, including reporting and trend analysis
