Job Description:
Truworths is seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to provide hands-on maintenance support to our operations. The Electronics Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the smooth functioning of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be self-managed, reliable, punctual, and have a diverse skill set that includes minor building maintenance tasks and a strong understanding of PLC, automation processes, and preventative maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to the Distribution Centre (DC).

Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential issues.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of electrical systems.

Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.

Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.

Collaborate with other departments to address electrical-related issues and support ongoing operations.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

Provide feedback on breakdowns and report issues.

Offer overtime support when needed.

Manage stock control and critical spares.
-
Ensure compliance with safe working procedures.
-
Perform housekeeping tasks and adhere to 5S principles.

Inspect and maintain health and safety required registers.
Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of technical or maintenance experience with strong knowledge of conveyors and motors.

Red Seal Trade Test Certificate.

Minimum NQF Level 3 qualification.

Knowledge of PLCs and programming.
-
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in electrical engineering or related fields.

Valid driver’s license.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring diagrams.

Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical problems and performing repairs.

Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and management.
