Fidelity Vacancies – EHS Specialist
The EHS Specialist is responsible for leading and supporting management in implementing the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System across the region. This role focuses on driving cultural change to minimize accidents, injuries, and environmental risks while ensuring compliance with statutory, company, and customer EHS requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety Management, particularly in construction and subcontractor management.
- Relevant EHS certifications or equivalent courses (e.g., RCAT & Risk Management, Environmental Health & Safety Management).
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet applications.
- Experience in delivering training programs, presentations, and policy development.
- Valid driver’s license.
- A diploma or related qualification in EHS Management will be an advantage.
Main Duties
- Drive a “Zero Harm to People and the Environment” culture throughout the region.
- Establish strong working relationships to support managers in implementing EHS policies and management systems.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and development for the regional EHS team.
- Support the integration of EHS into business planning and assist in setting EHS performance metrics.
- Develop and implement regional and national EHS projects, processes, and procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with the risk assessment and control system.
- Ensure contractor compliance with EHS management programs.
- Investigate and manage incidents, accidents, and near-miss events.
- Develop and coordinate EHS training programs.
- Oversee the implementation of occupational rehabilitation and injury management programs.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and emerging EHS issues and communicate them effectively.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting audits.
- Collaborate with internal EHS professionals and external industry, statutory, and professional bodies.
- Willingness to travel as required within the region.
