Job Overview:
BUCO is looking for a reliable Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to customers efficiently, ensuring the safe handling of materials, and assisting in various tasks around the yard when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently deliver goods to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Ensure the vehicle is neatly packed and ready for deliveries each day.
- Take proactive steps to prevent damages and breakages during transport.
- Supervise and assist with the packing, loading, and off-loading of materials.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections as per the provided checklist and report any defects.
- Ensure the vehicle is cleaned and maintained regularly.
- Deliver the correct quantities of materials to the correct addresses.
- Optimize routes to reduce running costs by combining trips in the same direction.
- Obtain signed delivery notes and ensure they are properly filed.
- Collect COD payments and hand over the correct amount to the responsible person.
- Assist with serving customers in the yard when not out on deliveries.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid Code 10 (HV) or Code 8 (LV) driver’s license (<3500 kg)
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant driving experience
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
