Dispatch Controller – Value Logistics
Purpose of the Role
The Dispatch Controller is responsible for coordinating the daily dispatch of goods by ensuring accurate planning, effective stock handling, and complete documentation. This role ensures full compliance with operational procedures, resolves dispatch-related issues promptly, and upholds quality, health, safety, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operations

Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are understood, implemented, and consistently followed

Operate and maintain proficiency across all relevant business systems
-
Plan daily outbound dispatch volumes accurately in line with operational requirements
-
Allocate staffing resources effectively to manage anticipated dispatch volumes
-
Coordinate accurate picking plans to meet dispatch targets
-
Ensure availability of required materials and equipment for efficient dispatch operations
-
Oversee stock handling to maintain product quality and packaging integrity
-
Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to documentation, vehicles, seals, or products at dispatch
-
Communicate relevant operational issues to customers when required

Resolve all dispatch-related issues within 24 hours and escalate unresolved matters to management

Arrange and confirm vehicle availability to support timely dispatch of stock

Manage handovers of stock to other operations in accordance with system processes

Ensure all loading activities are executed correctly and in line with approved procedures

Confirm that all dispatched loads are secure and compliant prior to departure

Maintain and manage the daily Work in Progress (WIP) report

Ensure all dispatch documentation is accurately completed, controlled, and filed

Analyse dispatch performance reports and implement corrective actions where required
Quality, Health and Safety, and KPIs

Monitor, measure, and report on dispatch KPIs on a monthly basis
-
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Non-Conformance Procedures (NCPs), and Improvement Opportunities (IOs) daily as required
-
Ensure all NCRs, NCPs, and IOs are closed within the prescribed lead times

Uphold all Health and Safety standards and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric)
-
Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehousing will be advantageous
-
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience within a warehousing environment
