Shoprite is seeking a dedicated Designate Meat Processing Plant Manager (Benoni) to oversee the efficient operation of its meat plant, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimizing production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness by providing resources and guidance for efficient meat production.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and governmental regulations, including HACCP and sanitation protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
• Analyze daily operational, sales, and inventory reports to drive productivity and quality improvements.
• Manage stock availability based on sales forecasts, ensuring adherence to FIFO principles.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to source raw materials and enhance product quality through testing initiatives.
• Monitor financial performance by managing budgets, expenses, and bulk purchasing within approved processes.
• Align staffing with operational demands and support workforce planning.
• Assist in strategic operational planning by contributing to short- and medium-term goal setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF4 (essential)
• Diploma in Business Management or Financial Management (essential)

Experience & Knowledge

• At least four years of experience in a meat plant or similar meat processing environment (essential)
• Understanding of regulatory requirements, including HACCP, FSSC22000, and health and safety standards (essential)
• Knowledge of meat cuts and processed meat products, such as polonies (essential)
• Exposure to a retail-oriented environment (desirable)
