Shoprite is seeking a Designate Meat Processing Plant Manager (Benoni) to oversee daily operations, ensure compliance, and drive efficiency in meat production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness by providing resources and guidance for efficient production processes.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and local, provincial, and governmental regulations, including Good Management Practices, sanitation protocols, and HACCP requirements.
• Work closely with maintenance teams to address equipment issues and implement preventive maintenance plans.
• Review operational, sales, and inventory reports to optimize productivity and quality.
• Manage stock availability in alignment with sales forecasts, ensuring adherence to FIFO principles.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships for raw material sourcing and product quality testing.
• Analyze operational reports to anticipate production needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Monitor financial performance, support budgeting processes, and provide necessary data and analysis.
• Assist in workforce planning to align staffing needs with operational requirements.
• Contribute to strategic planning by assisting in the development of short- and medium-term goals.
• Manage operational expenses and bulk purchases in accordance with approved Meat Market processes.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF4 (essential).
• Diploma in Business Management, Financial Management, or a related field (essential).

Experience

• At least four years of experience in a meat processing plant or a similar meat production environment (essential).
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for meat processing, including HACCP, FSSC22000, and health and safety standards (essential).
• Understanding of meat cuts and processed meat products such as polonies (essential).
• Exposure to retail-oriented operations (desirable).
