Position Overview
Tiger Brands is seeking a Debriefer to join our dynamic sales team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution of sales operations, focusing on conducting daily debriefs with drivers, monitoring route performance, and supporting the overall sales strategy. As a Debriefer, you will contribute to market penetration and help build strong customer relationships, driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily driver debriefs to assess route performance, utilizing debrief forms to ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate distribution networks, focusing on route viability and performance.
- Assist in the execution of sales strategies by promoting Albany products, meeting sales targets, and ensuring customer retention.
- Develop new markets by opening new outlets and enhancing relationships with existing customers.
- Collaborate with truck crews (Drivers and Van Assistants) to ensure smooth operations and build strong relationships with trade customers.
- Schedule regular route rides using Salesway Application Tools to ensure route optimization and performance.
- Maintain and update Profile Cards and complete daily call cycles.
- Manage returns, donations, and pricing surveys in line with company policies.
- Support promotion activations and distributor network activities, ensuring effective in-trade execution.
In-Trade Execution
- Ensure point of sales materials are displayed correctly and credit returns are minimized.
- Maintain clean and well-stocked display areas, ensuring no damaged or expired stock is present.
- Negotiate pricing strategies and deals within company guidelines.
Customer Relations
- Open new customer accounts (both cash and credit) in general trade, ensuring outstanding payments are collected daily.
- Manage customer queries, special deliveries, and ensure customer data is regularly updated.
Quality and Trade Marketing
- Understand product quality requirements and manage customer complaints.
- Report consumer complaints and manage market incidents.
- Assist in trade marketing initiatives, building customer and route plans to drive growth.
- Identify top and bottom customers per route, developing strategies for growth and recovery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric or equivalent qualification is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales experience in an FMCG environment with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be prepared to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Experience in both informal and formal trade sectors is advantageous.
