Sab Vacancies – DC Logistics Manager

Role Overview
As the DC Logistics Manager for our Polokwane distribution center, you will oversee safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement in logistics operations. This role is essential in maintaining customer service excellence and optimizing logistics performance by aligning processes with DPO standards and budget targets. You will lead your team to ensure efficient fleet management, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Ensure a safe work environment for all stakeholders and meet legislative requirements.
  • Manage SIO and SHO generation and follow-ups.
  • Conduct quarterly safety reviews and annual risk assessments.

Quality

  • Ensure logistics teams meet quality standards so customers receive stock per AB InBev guidelines.

DPO Standards

  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly logistics meetings as per DPO guidelines.
  • Track KPIs and address out-of-range metrics with DPO problem-solving tools.
  • Standardize processes using SOPs, work diagnostics, and improvement exercises.

Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by benchmarking against best-in-class standards.
  • Collaborate with HR to address training needs and ensure staff development.
  • Lead a problem-solving culture through DPO tools (e.g., 5 Why, GAPA, PDCA).

Fleet & Logistics Management

  • Maintain vehicle contingency plans and optimize delivery fleet size.
  • Manage full beer returns process, peak sizing, and trade visit planning.
  • Conduct customer service evaluations and manage SLAs with all logistics partners.

Industrial Relations (IR)

  • Maintain positive IR by engaging monthly with Union representatives.
  • Ensure open communication with stakeholders via monthly employee meetings.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to compliance controls (Vendor payments, SOX, CSA).
  • Maintain effective compliance reporting and fleet statutory requirements.

Financial Management

  • Adhere to flexed budgets and manage weekly/monthly sizing in line with the sales plan.
  • Report on budget variances and oversee the budgeting process.

People Development

  • Foster a positive and high-performance team environment.
  • Recruit diverse talent and coach team members effectively.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Management, Logistics, Distribution/Warehousing, and Finance.
  • Knowledge of local market environments and legislative requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in numerical and analytical tasks, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Regional Logistics Manager – Sales
