SAB Vacancies – Data and BI Engineer
SAB is seeking a Data and BI Engineer to develop and implement reporting and insights to provide the Africa Zone with accurate, timely, and useful information. This role involves managing the Power BI reporting environment, working with various data platforms, and collaborating with different functions and stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Power BI Development and Administration
- Develop and maintain reporting in Power BI, primarily built on Azure, SQL, and third-party platforms.
- Oversee day-to-day management of the Power BI reporting environment, including optimization and root-cause problem-solving of failures.
- Data Management and Tools Development
- Develop and maintain tools for effective data capture and information management.
- Collaborate with different functions to provide technology expertise for building sustainable solutions.
- Handle change requests/enhancements by working closely with various stakeholders.
- Incident Management and Problem-Solving
- Provide fast and accurate resolution to incident/service requests, ensuring a right-first-time approach.
- Handle crisis situations, such as application and data unavailability, and assist technically in recovering as soon as possible.
- Engage and build relationships across business functions, the global organization, and vendors worldwide.
- Continuous Improvement
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of BI and Data application services.
- Identify areas for improvement in the data ecosystem and suggest enhancements to increase accuracy and reliability.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Information Systems/Management.
- 5-7 years of experience in IT.
- Proficiency in Power BI development and administration.
- Strong knowledge of MS SQL, Power Query, Azure Fundamentals, ADF, and ADB.
- Basic knowledge of SAP and ABAP is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity and ethics.
- Ability to manage multiple streams of information with attention to detail.
