Sanlam Vacancies – Data Analyst – Western Cape

Sanlam is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding environment, where your contributions will directly impact portfolio performance analysis and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately calculate and deliver performance and attribution data.
  • Construct and maintain composites in compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS).
  • Analyze and interpret GIPS results, providing insights as needed.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of static and time-series data for portfolios, benchmarks, and related information.
  • Manually calculate performance metrics and validate system-generated results when necessary.
  • Investigate and interpret anomalies in attribution/contribution reports.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to research and resolve data-related queries.
  • Participate in special projects and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a related field with a strong numerical component.
  • 3+ years of experience in Portfolio Performance and Attribution Analysis at a financial institution (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Statpro Performance Attribution is a distinct advantage.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VBA.
  • Knowledge of SQL database programming.
  • Programming skills (VB.Net) preferred.
  • Interest and understanding of financial markets and investment portfolios.
