DisChem Vacancies – Customer Consultant-Newcastle Mall (New Store)

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a dedicated Customer Consultant for the new Newcastle Mall store. This role involves engaging with customers, providing information on products and services, and assisting in resolving inquiries and concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric with at least 60% in English, Afrikaans, and Maths Literacy
  • At least one year of experience in administration or public relations
  • Strong communication and customer interaction skills
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Qualification in Administration, Customer Service, or Public Relations
  • SAP experience
  • Knowledge of a third additional language

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately capture customer data and complete relevant documentation
  • Check and manage card balances, reports, and statements for customers
  • Maintain stock control of promotional items, partner goody bags, travel kits, and free gifts
  • Process transactions accurately using TRMS, capturing and reporting accordingly
  • Manage shrinkage and inventory control measures
  • Address customer complaints, compliments, and inquiries, escalating when necessary
  • Respond to customer queries via email and other communication platforms
  • Ensure in-store promotional signage and Benefits Programme displays are updated
  • Conduct staff training on the Benefits Programme and ensure proper implementation
  • Assist with in-store events and promotions
  • Ensure effective communication between departments regarding customer service updates

  • Excellent command of English and Afrikaans
  • Active listening and effective problem-solving abilities
  • Analytical thinking and patience when dealing with customer concerns
  • Time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Honest, trustworthy, and professional demeanor

Advantageous:

  • Relevant administration or customer service course
  • Knowledge of the POPI and Consumer Protection Act
  • Proficiency in a third additional language

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for travel when required
  • South African citizen
