SAB Vacancies – Condition Monitoring Specialist
As a Condition Monitoring Specialist at SAB, your primary responsibility is to ensure optimal asset performance through effective loss elimination, risk management, life cycle management, and the implementation of best practices. You will oversee the fixed cost maintenance plan and apply condition monitoring techniques to maximize asset reliability and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Condition Monitoring Techniques:
- Develop and manage the plant footprint to ensure the appropriate condition monitoring techniques are applied, including Vibration Spectrum Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermography, and Ultrasonic Analysis.
- Monitor assets to detect the onset of deterioration, providing measures of the extent and rate of wear and tear.
- Integrate condition monitoring practices into SIC systems.
- Enhance Asset Reliability and Availability:
- Apply a just-in-time (JIT) approach to asset maintenance based on condition monitoring results.
- Continuously review and optimize predictive maintenance plans to maximize output while minimizing costs.
- Identify and address trends in asset performance using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analysis, implementing solutions to reduce breakdowns.
- Monitor reliability indicators from condition monitoring reports and adjust maintenance plans as needed.
- Resolve Failures through Structured Problem Solving:
- Use formal problem-solving tools to evaluate and resolve issues, informed by Loss & Waste and condition monitoring analyses.
- Facilitate higher-level problem-solving activities and ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage Asset Risks and Life Cycle:
- Identify maintenance risks and address them through correct condition monitoring techniques.
- Optimize maintenance Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by applying life cycle costing analysis.
- Reduce life cycle costs by improving asset maintainability.
- Identify and Implement Best Practices:
- Establish condition monitoring best practices and benchmark against industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to internal and external condition monitoring standards.
- Drive efficiency by replicating learnings from condition monitoring across similar assets within the group.
- Training and Development:
- Train, coach, assess, and sign off Maintenance and Planning Associates on condition monitoring best practices.
- Develop technical standards and work instructions to support maintenance teams.
- Project Delivery:
- Ensure all new equipment is integrated into the condition monitoring footprint, applying the correct techniques from the outset.
Qualifications and Skills:
- National Diploma (N6) in Engineering or Maintenance.
- At least 3 years of packaging production experience and/or VISA Level 2 certification.
- Experience in the utilities environment.
- Proficiency in SAP PM and general computer literacy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
