Role Summary
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for the training, implementation, support, monitoring, control, and sustainability of all Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) Management System requirements, as well as Transport Management System processes. The role ensures ongoing compliance with approved management systems, legal obligations, and commercial requirements, including the maintenance of site licenses and accreditations through structured and documented audits.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
QSHE and RTMS Compliance

Ensure full compliance with QSHE and RTMS policies, procedures, and statutory requirements

Develop, review, implement, train, sustain, and audit procedures, workflows, and work instructions

Support and maintain Healthcare QMS requirements where applicable

Ensure ongoing compliance with client contracts, SLAs, supplier agreements, and legal frameworks
Audits and Continuous Improvement

Actively participate in internal, external, client, and statutory audits
-
Drive non-conformance management through effective corrective and preventative actions
-
Support continual improvement initiatives across operations
-
Prepare, execute, and report on audits and inspections
Operational Support and Monitoring
-
Proactively engage with operational teams to identify risks, system failures, and improvement opportunities
-
Escalate operational weaknesses and compliance risks to management promptly
-
Provide compliance guidance and support to branch management teams
Reporting and Analysis
-
Compile and submit KPI, productivity, and efficiency reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
-
Submit regular housekeeping and QSHE inspection reports
-
Conduct trend analysis and root cause analysis for incidents and non-conformances
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management

Ensure implementation and monitoring of Occupational Health and Safety standards
-
Maintain facility and equipment compliance, including updated maintenance and MHE registers
-
Drive waste management initiatives aligned with environmental targets and sustainability objectives

Promote reduce, reuse, and recycle practices across operations
Incident and Security Management

Support accurate, timely, and professional incident reporting and investigation
-
Participate in security initiatives to prevent stock loss, theft, or misappropriation
-
Compile detailed reports for incidents and security-related matters
Contractor and Supplier Management
-
Ensure all contractors meet SHE requirements and are approved service providers
-
Verify contractor compliance with licenses, accreditations, training, and safety files
-
Conduct daily contractor audits while on site to ensure compliance with HSE standards
Supervisory and Management Support

Support departmental resource management and attend management meetings
-
Assist with supervision, planning, monitoring, and control functions as required
Qualifications and Experience
-
Grade 12
-
Qualification in Quality, Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar compliance or QSHE role
-
Proven involvement in the implementation and auditing of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Healthcare QMS
-
Experience with RTMS (Road Transport Management System)

Supplier and contractor auditing experience
Computer Skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting
Knowledge and Technical Competencies

Strong understanding of QSHE management systems and legal compliance auditing
-
Experience in national compliance with policies, regulations, work instructions, and local authority requirements

Proven skills in root cause analysis, trend analysis, and CAPA implementation
-
Audit planning, execution, and reporting expertise

Knowledge of waste management and environmental compliance practices

Understanding of logistics, transport, and supply chain operations
