Vacancy: Western Cape Communications Specialist – Fidelity Services Group (all brands)

Reporting to: Fidelity Services Group – Head of Group Marketing and Communications

Overall Purpose of the Job – Communications:
The Communications Specialist will influence stakeholder behavior to support the brand vision and business priorities. This role will focus on delivering effective and timely external communications and reputation management to build trust and credibility. The Communications Specialist will maintain the perception of thought leadership and good corporate citizenship through positive PR, changing behavior, attitudes, and opinions. The role involves crafting, designing, and executing regional communications plans in alignment with marketing goals, sourcing and distributing positive news stories, new products, suburb-specific information, and general communications through various platforms.

Main Duties:

• Coordinate all above and below-the-line marketing and communication activities within the region, ensuring an effective share of voice.
• Plan and implement promotional campaigns in alignment with national marketing and communications strategies.
• Regularly report on the success of regional communications activities.
• Ensure a consistent brand experience at all customer touchpoints.
• Work closely with the PR agency to increase share of voice, reporting best practices, and insights.
• Build and maintain media relations and monitor media coverage.
• Collaborate with the business to create PR and marketing plans tailored to the region.
• Assist in crisis communication planning to ensure timely and effective responses.
• Investigate appropriate communication platforms utilized by communities, cities, or on a national level for distribution of communications.
• Identify suburb-specific communication tools and partner with community leaders to drive customer awareness of the brand.
• Segment the customer base to target audiences with the most relevant communications.
• Grow awareness and consideration for the Fidelity brand in the region through consistent messaging, relevant positioning, and positive communications initiatives.
• Formulate communication policies to represent the organization to customers and stakeholders.
• Manage, distribute, and analyze customer satisfaction surveys.
• Handle additional communication projects as required.
• Develop and manage internal communications.
• Create and distribute social media and WhatsApp content to enhance brand awareness and positioning.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

• B-degree in Communications (minimum requirement)
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a corporate Communications Specialist
• Agency experience is advantageous
