Job Description
Spar Vacancies – Communications Controller
SPAR is looking for a Communications Controller to join its team. This role supports the development and execution of internal and retail communication strategies for SPAR KZN.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing communication strategies to support company initiatives and campaigns
- Work with the Communications Manager and SPAR KZN team to create engaging content for newsletters, media screens, and social media
- Support retailers by developing internal communication and social media assets
- Contribute to the planning and execution of SPAR KZN DC annual campaigns
- Develop compelling content for various communication materials, including flyers, posters, and video scripts
- Handle administrative tasks within the Communications Department
- Assist in overseeing production processes such as photography, proofreading, field testing, and graphic design
- Ensure compliance with SPAR’s Corporate Identity guidelines
- Participate in departmental planning and review meetings
- Conduct communication research and compile reports as needed
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Communications, Public Relations, or Media
- 2-3 years of experience in a communications-related role
- Experience in the retail sector is an advantage
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create engaging content for multiple platforms
- Experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans
- Strong campaign conceptualization and execution skills
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
