Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Vryburg. This role involves managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, while adhering to the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Operations: Manage daily operations of the clinic, ensuring it is open and functional during stated hours. Achieve clinic objectives to enhance patient care and maintain a high average “feet-per-hour” rate.
  • Patient Care: Provide primary health care services in line with industry regulations and best practices. Build and maintain positive relationships with patients and key stakeholders.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communication. Process claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Stock Management: Ensure that clinic stock and equipment are in good working condition and sufficient for clinic needs. Monitor and manage stock levels according to business requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • BHF registration.
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner.
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advantageous:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Primary Health Care Practitioner.
    • Experience with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
    • Strong command of English (written and oral).
    • Ability to understand and manage financial targets and clinic statistics.
    • Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, and high levels of integrity.
    • Self-directed, self-motivated, and effective time management skills.
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual.
    • Knowledge of business objectives.
    • Certification in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours.
  • Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • South African citizen.
  • Clear credit and criminal records.
