Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Potchefstroom. The role involves managing and operating a successful Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, adhering to the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clinic Management: Oversee the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring it is open and functional according to scheduled hours. Manage clinic objectives to improve patient care and maintain service excellence.
• Patient Care: Provide primary health care services in line with industry regulations and best practices. Build and maintain positive relationships with patients and key stakeholders.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely follow-up on communications. Process claims promptly and manage clinic stock and equipment.
• Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, ensure equipment is operational, and maintain inventory according to business needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and sustain relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, medical aids, suppliers, and other healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential:
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
  • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • BHF registration.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Practitioner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Advantageous:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Primary Health Care Practitioner.
  • Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

• Essential:
  • Knowledge in community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
  • Strong command of English (written and oral).
  • Understanding of financial implications of meeting or missing targets.
  • Strong analytical skills related to clinic statistics and commission.
  • Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and honesty.
  • Ability to manage oneself and a team, with excellent time management skills.
• Advantageous:
  • Bilingual.
  • Understanding of business objectives.
  • Certifications in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.
