Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Okavango. This role involves managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, following the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure the clinic is profitable and meets set objectives. Ensure the clinic is open and operational according to its schedule.
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality primary health care services in line with industry standards and best practices. Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications.
  • Stock and Equipment Management: Ensure clinic stock and equipment are in working condition and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Claims Processing: Accurately process claims and manage financial aspects of the clinic.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, medical aids, suppliers, and other healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • BHF registration.
    • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner in a Primary Health Care setting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advantageous:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner.
    • Familiarity with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • Expertise in community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
    • Strong command of English (written and oral).
    • Ability to understand financial implications and meet set targets.
    • Strong analytical skills for clinic statistics and commission.
    • High emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and honesty.
    • Ability to manage self and a team effectively with excellent time management skills.
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual.
    • Understanding of business objectives.
    • Certifications in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willing and able to work retail hours.
  • Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • South African citizen.
  • Clear credit and criminal records.
