Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a skilled Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Lenasia. The primary responsibility is to manage and operate a successful Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, adhering to the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Management: Oversee daily clinic operations to ensure profitability and adherence to objectives. Maintain clinic hours and ensure all services are consistently available.
  • Patient Care: Deliver high-quality primary health care services, keeping accurate patient records and ensuring effective follow-up communication.
  • Stock and Equipment Management: Ensure all clinic stock and equipment are well-maintained and operational. Manage inventory levels in accordance with business requirements.
  • Claims Processing: Accurately process claims in a timely manner, following industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, the Store and Dispensary Manager, medical aids, suppliers, and other healthcare professionals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • BHF registration.
    • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner in a Primary Health Care setting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advantageous:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner.
    • Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • In-depth knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
    • Strong command of English (written and oral).
    • Understanding of financial implications related to monthly targets.
    • Strong analytical skills for managing clinic statistics and commissions.
    • High emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, and integrity.
    • Ability to manage self and a team effectively, with excellent time management skills.
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual.
    • Knowledge of business objectives.
    • Additional courses in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours.
  • Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • South African citizen.
