Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team in Jakaranda. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and operate a successful Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services within the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Operations: Oversee the day-to-day management of the clinic, ensuring profitability and efficiency. Maintain clinic hours and ensure the availability of all required services.
  • Patient Care: Provide top-tier primary health care services, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure effective communication and follow-up.
  • Stock and Equipment Management: Ensure that all clinic stock and equipment are well-maintained and fully operational. Manage inventory levels in line with business needs.
  • Claims Processing: Process all claims accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and other key healthcare stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • BHF registration.
    • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner in a Primary Health Care setting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advantageous:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner.
    • Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
    • Strong command of English (written and oral).
    • Understanding of financial implications related to meeting monthly targets.
    • Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinic statistics and managing commissions.
    • High emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, and integrity.
    • Ability to manage oneself and a team effectively, with strong time management skills.
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual.
    • Understanding of business objectives.
    • Completion of additional courses in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours.
  • Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
