Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Clinic Practitioner to join their team at Jabulani Mall. The primary purpose of this role is to manage and operate a successful Primary Health Care Clinic within the pharmacy, ensuring the provision of high-quality healthcare services within the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinic Management: Oversee the daily operations of the clinic, ensuring profitability and adherence to operational hours.
  • Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive primary health care services, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure effective follow-up communication.
  • Stock and Equipment: Ensure that all clinic stock and equipment are in good working condition and adequately supplied to meet business needs.
  • Claims Processing: Accurately and timely process claims according to industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and other healthcare stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery.
    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
    • BHF registration.
    • 2-3 years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner in a Primary Health Care setting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Advantageous:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Clinic Practitioner.
    • Familiarity with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra.

Competencies:

  • Essential:
    • In-depth knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care.
    • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to understand and manage financial implications related to clinic performance and monthly targets.
    • Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinic statistics and managing commissions.
    • High emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and reliability.
    • Ability to manage oneself and a team effectively, with excellent time management skills.
  • Advantageous:
    • Bilingual proficiency.
    • Understanding of business objectives.
    • Completion of additional courses in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work retail hours.
