Job Description:
DisChem is seeking a dedicated Clinic Practitioner to join our team in Ballito. The role involves managing and operating a successful Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy, with a focus on employee relations and maintaining high standards of patient care.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  • Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
  • Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • BHF registration
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Advantageous:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Sister
  • Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Clinic Practitioner duties in alignment with industry regulations and best practices
  • Manage clinic performance, including “feet-per-hour” rates and set objectives to improve patient satisfaction
  • Ensure the availability of all clinic services
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely follow-up communication
  • Operate the clinic according to established hours and standards
  • Process medical claims accurately and promptly
  • Oversee the condition and availability of clinic stock and equipment
  • Foster strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, community role players, and other healthcare professionals

Competencies:
Essential:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
  • Commitment to quarterly CPD training and in-service training with DisChem
  • Strong command of English (written and verbal)
  • Ability to understand the financial implications of meeting or not meeting monthly targets
  • Strong analytical skills for clinic statistics and commission management
  • High emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit, and integrity
  • Effective team and self-management, self-direction, and motivation
  • Excellent time management

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of business objectives
  • Additional courses in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management

Special Conditions of Employment:
