DisChem Vacancies – Clinic Nurse Practitioner-Graafwater

primary responsibility of this role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within a pharmacy setting, in accordance with the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  • Degree or Diploma in Midwifery
  • Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • BHF registration required
  • 2 to 3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Nurse Practitioner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinic duties in line with industry regulations and best practices
  • Manage the “feet-per-hour” rate and establish objectives to enhance patient care
  • Ensure the availability of all clinic services as required
  • Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
  • Ensure clinic operations align with the specified operational hours
  • Process claims accurately and in accordance with industry guidelines
  • Maintain clinic stock and equipment in proper working condition
  • Ensure adequate stock levels in line with business needs
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aid providers, suppliers, community stakeholders, and other healthcare professionals

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUDs, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
  • Participation in quarterly CPD training and in-service training at Dis-Chem
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Understanding of financial targets and the impact of meeting or missing goals
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting clinic statistics and commission reports
  • Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, and integrity
  • Ability to manage a team and work independently
  • Effective time management skills

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual proficiency
  • Understanding of business objectives
  • Completion of relevant courses, including Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management

Special Conditions of Employment:
