Job Description:
Dis-Chem is seeking a Qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Graafwater, Sandveld. The key purpose of this role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic within the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• BHF registration for Nursing Practitioner
• 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

• Minimum of 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
• Experience with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner duties according to industry regulations and best practices
• Manage the average “feet-per-hour” rate and set clinic objectives to enhance patient satisfaction
• Ensure all clinic services are available as needed
• Keep accurate records of patient details and ensure follow-up communication
• Ensure the Clinic is operational according to stated hours
• Process claims accurately and timely
• Ensure all stock and equipment in the clinic are in working condition and sufficient
• Build and maintain healthy relationships with stakeholders, including patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers/reps, community key role players, and other healthcare professionals

Competencies:
Essential:

• Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
• Quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong command of English (written and oral)
• Understanding of the financial implications of meeting or not meeting set monthly targets
• Strong analytical skills relating to monthly clinic statistics and commission
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, trustworthiness, and honesty
• Ability to manage a team and self, being self-directed and self-motivated
• Time management skills
