Job Description:
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Eikestad Mall, Stellenbosch. The primary purpose of this role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic situated within a pharmacy, while maintaining high standards of patient care and employee relations.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• BHF registration
• 2-3 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Advantageous:

• Minimum of 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
• Experience with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner duties in accordance with industry regulations and best practices
• Manage the average “feet-per-hour” rate and set clinic objectives to enhance patient satisfaction
• Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
• Maintain accurate records of patient details and ensure proper follow-up communication
• Operate the clinic according to stated hours and guidelines
• Process claims accurately and timely
• Ensure all stock and equipment in the clinic are in working condition and sufficient
• Build and maintain healthy relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers/reps, community key role players, and other healthcare providers

Competencies:
Essential:

• Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, and/or occupational health nursing
• Understanding of family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, and wound care
• Quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong command of English (written and oral)
• Financial awareness regarding meeting or not meeting set monthly targets
• Strong analytical skills related to monthly clinic statistics and commission
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, trustworthiness, and honesty
• Ability to manage team and self, be self-directed and self-motivated
• Effective time management

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge and understanding of business objectives
• Courses in Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management
