Job Purpose:
Fidelity is seeking a Cleaning Area Manager to oversee professional cleaning services across a designated geographic area. The successful candidate will ensure client satisfaction, drive business retention, and maintain profitability while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5 years of management experience in the cleaning, industrial, or commercial services industry
- Matric; tertiary qualifications are an advantage
- Experience in service sales is advantageous
- Exposure to Industrial Relations at a shop floor level is beneficial
- Sales or operations background preferred
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily attendance registers are marked and labor allocations are correct
- Oversee and manage all cleaning equipment in line with company policies
- Authorize and submit store orders on time to the Stores Department
- Maintain staff discipline by following company procedures and addressing grievances
- Respond to daily messages, complaints, and client queries promptly
- Communicate company policy changes to staff and prepare contingency plans for strikes or stay-aways
- Conduct employee appraisals and manage promotions, retrenchments, and dismissals as authorized by the Regional Manager
- Perform regular site inspections to ensure high service standards
- Attend client meetings, record minutes, and ensure prompt resolution of any issues
- Promote the company’s non-recurring business (special projects)
- Participate in monthly Area Manager meetings to discuss wage queries, leave, and costings
- Lead monthly meetings with supervisory staff and submit agendas and minutes
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Investigate client debtor queries and collect payments when required
