Job Purpose:
Fidelity is seeking a Cleaning Area Manager to oversee professional cleaning services across a designated geographic area. The successful candidate will ensure client satisfaction, drive business retention, and maintain profitability while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of management experience in the cleaning, industrial, or commercial services industry
  • Matric; tertiary qualifications are an advantage
  • Experience in service sales is advantageous
  • Exposure to Industrial Relations at a shop floor level is beneficial
  • Sales or operations background preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily attendance registers are marked and labor allocations are correct
  • Oversee and manage all cleaning equipment in line with company policies
  • Authorize and submit store orders on time to the Stores Department
  • Maintain staff discipline by following company procedures and addressing grievances
  • Respond to daily messages, complaints, and client queries promptly
  • Communicate company policy changes to staff and prepare contingency plans for strikes or stay-aways
  • Conduct employee appraisals and manage promotions, retrenchments, and dismissals as authorized by the Regional Manager
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure high service standards
  • Attend client meetings, record minutes, and ensure prompt resolution of any issues
  • Promote the company’s non-recurring business (special projects)
  • Participate in monthly Area Manager meetings to discuss wage queries, leave, and costings
  • Lead monthly meetings with supervisory staff and submit agendas and minutes
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Investigate client debtor queries and collect payments when required
