Purpose of the Role
The Chief Foreman will oversee engineering maintenance processes within the assigned area to support mining teams in achieving production targets aligned with QCDSM principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily engineering and maintenance strategies to meet departmental KPIs.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacement to optimize performance.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and budgets.
- Implement and monitor operational projects, engineering SOPs, and compliance protocols.
- Conduct root cause analysis, trend evaluations, and execute predictive maintenance recommendations.
- Support production targets by coordinating planning activities within the designated area.
- Ensure safety metrics are met, fostering a zero-harm culture and compliance with SHE standards.
- Lead and develop the team by managing recruitment, training, and career growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Grade 12/N3 with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
- Diesel Trade Test (Red Seal) – NQF Level 4.
Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance processes.
