Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is continuously seeking skilled CCTV Operators to join our talent pool, ensuring we have a ready and pre-screened group of professionals for future opportunities. As a CCTV Operator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our assets, property, and staff by monitoring surveillance footage and adhering to industry regulations to create a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveillance Monitoring: Vigilantly observe CCTV footage to identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Access Control: Regulate and monitor access to the premises, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry.
  • Incident Reporting: Investigate and report any signs of unlawful entry, damage, or suspicious behavior to management.
  • Emergency Response: Provide assistance during emergency situations by alerting first responders and maintaining order during evacuations.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests, customers, and employees.
  • Security Maintenance: Implement and adhere to loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize risks such as theft, vandalism, or accidents.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document all incidents, daily activities, and maintain relevant security logs and registers.
  • Adherence to Protocols: Follow Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and industry best practices in all security-related tasks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Grade 12 / Matric.
    • Grade C accreditation with PSIRA.
    • 1-3 years of experience in a CCTV control room, particularly within a warehousing/distribution center environment.
    • At least 1 year of experience in a pharmaceutical warehousing environment and with Hikvision systems.
  • Advantageous:
    • 2+ years of experience in a CCTV control room within a pharmaceutical warehousing environment and proficiency with Hikvision systems.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of PSIRA regulations and standards.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to recognize and follow procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CCTV systems.
  • Strong self-management skills and the ability to find solutions and escalate issues appropriately.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and be on standby.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Clear criminal and credit records.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
