DisChem Vacancies – CCTV Operator Talent Pool-Gauteng

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is actively building a talent pool for CCTV Operators in Gauteng. This strategic approach ensures a ready and pre-screened group of individuals with the necessary skills and qualifications for future opportunities.

The role involves providing security services in compliance with the Private Security Industry Regulations Act 56 of 2001. The CCTV Operator will be responsible for monitoring surveillance footage, identifying suspicious activities, and ensuring a secure environment for assets, property, and staff while adhering to industry regulations and best practices.

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Grade C accreditation with PSIRA
  • 1-3 years of CCTV control room experience in a warehousing or distribution center environment
  • At least one year of experience in a pharmaceutical warehousing environment with Hikvision system knowledge

Advantageous:

  • Two or more years of CCTV control room experience in a pharmaceutical warehousing environment with Hikvision system experience

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor CCTV surveillance to identify and report suspicious activities
  • Control access to the premises by regulating entry points for authorized personnel
  • Investigate and report damage, unlawful entry, or potential security risks
  • Provide professional and courteous assistance to employees, customers, and visitors
  • Ensure company assets and property are protected from theft or malicious activity
  • Maintain presence at the designated post and adhere to shift requirements
  • Report unusual or suspicious behavior by staff, customers, or suppliers
  • Follow correct procedures during opening and closing of the site
  • Monitor alarm systems, cameras, and emergency equipment when necessary
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance, particularly during after-hours operations
  • Assist emergency teams during critical situations
  • Enforce security policies to prevent loss or damage to company assets
  • Maintain accurate logs of daily activities and security incidents
  • Conduct audits and implement strategies to minimize financial losses due to theft, accidents, or vandalism
  • Ensure compliance with Dis-Chem policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of PSIRA regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and respond to security risks appropriately
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and CCTV systems
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues when necessary
  • Self-management and attention to detail

Special conditions of employment:

  • Willingness to work overtime or be on standby as required
