DisChem Vacancies – Casual Sales Assistant-Baby City Kenilworth

Dis-Chem Baby City is looking for a Casual Sales Assistant to join the team at the Kenilworth Centre store. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while maintaining stock levels, processing payments at the Point of Sale, and ensuring high merchandising standards.

Minimum requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months of retail experience
• Minimum of 1 year of retail work experience

Advantageous:

• Certification in Retail Business Management

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, and expired or damaged stock to management
• Assist with stocktaking and inventory management
• Support with loading and off-loading stock when needed
• Ensure products are neatly displayed and within their sell-by dates
• Restock shelves as required to maximize sales
• Maintain accurate product pricing and labels, reporting any discrepancies
• Stay informed on new product knowledge to assist customers effectively
• Handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses
• Build and maintain promotional displays within set timeframes
• Ensure promotional materials, posters, and price tickets are placed and removed as required
• Process transactions accurately, including cash, card, vouchers, and loyalty program payments
• Verify and scan outgoing stock and purchases
• Provide professional, helpful customer service and resolve inquiries
• Report customer feedback, including compliments and complaints, to management
