DisChem Vacancies – Casual Merchandiser – Noordhoek

Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a dedicated Casual Merchandiser to join our team at the Noordhoek store. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our merchandising standards are consistently maintained and that customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Management: Restock merchandise as needed to maximize sales and ensure all products are displayed correctly and timeously.
• Shelf Maintenance: Regularly check that stock on shelves is within its sell-by date and fully stocked, ensuring the proper rotation of products (FIFO).
• Inventory Reporting: Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged, and expired stock to management promptly.
• Stock Presentation: Maintain front shop shelves, ensuring products are neatly presented, labeled, and priced correctly at all times.
• Display Setup: Build, stock, and maintain merchandising displays according to Dis-Chem’s operating standards, store layout, and planograms.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance to all customers, addressing stock queries and following up on out-of-stock items.
• Physical Upkeep: Ensure the store and merchandise displays are kept in good order, and assist with the loading and off-loading of stock as needed.
• Compliance: Adhere to Dis-Chem policies, SOPs, and health and safety regulations, ensuring the correct uniform and badge are worn at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential:
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Up to 6 months of retail experience.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Willingness to work retail hours.
• Advantageous:
  • At least 1 year of retail experience.

• Effective communication with customers, management, and staff.
• Trustworthy, honest, and reliable.
• Strong time management skills.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Willing and able to work retail hours.
• Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy boxes, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Reliable transport and/or reside close to the store.
• Must be a South African citizen with clear credit and criminal records.
