Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking Casual Cashiers to join their Tubatse store. As part of a strategic talent pool, this role aims to identify and pre-screen skilled individuals for future opportunities within Dis-Chem. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate transaction processing and adherence to company policies.

Purpose of the Role:

• Deliver a world-class shopping experience by supporting customer service at the point of sale.
• Accurately record transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system while minimizing errors and eliminating fraud risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
• Handle customer complaints and compliments, escalating them to the Frontline Supervisor or store management as needed.
• Stay informed about current sales and promotions.
• Maintain the customer turnover hourly rate.
• Ensure the safety and security of colleagues, customers, and stock.
• Implement and manage Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles.
• Accurately process transactions, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty cards.
• Secure all cash according to Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Handle merchandise exchanges, returns, and refunds as authorized.
• Monitor suspicious behavior and report it to management.
• Adhere to security policies and handle daily takings confidentially.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential:
  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • At least 6 months of cashier or till operation experience.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Basic customer service skills.
  • Availability to work retail hours.
• Advantageous:
  • Proficiency in a third additional language.
