Square store. This role is focused on providing excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring an efficient and accurate checkout process.

Minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• At least 6 months of cashier or till operations experience
• Computer literacy, including MS Office
• Strong numerical skills
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness and availability to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional customer service in line with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures
• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers
• Report customer complaints and compliments to management
• Ensure awareness of current promotions and sales
• Maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues at the till point
• Process transactions accurately, including cash, card, vouchers, and loyalty program payments
• Handle returns and exchanges in line with company policies
• Secure all cash and follow standard operating procedures for drop safes
• Maintain confidentiality when handling cash and daily takings
• Be alert to suspicious activity and report any concerns to management
• Ensure that all outgoing stock and transactions are correctly scanned and processed
• Adhere to security policies to minimize losses and prevent fraud

• Strong knowledge of cash register operations and cash handling
• Attention to detail and high accuracy in processing transactions
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle customer queries effectively
• Trustworthy and responsible with financial transactions
