Job Description:
As a Cashier at Food Lovers Market, you play a key role in ensuring an excellent shopping experience for our customers. Your main responsibilities will involve handling transactions accurately, maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, and providing friendly, efficient service. You will work closely with the Till Supervisor and will be expected to work across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an electronic point of sale (POS) system with an attached scale.
- Efficiently process transactions and ensure accuracy in product pricing and change given.
- Balance all payment methods during cash-up procedures.
- Keep the till area clean and hygienic.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
- Stay informed about current promotions, advertisements, and product codes.
- Communicate effectively and manage time well, especially during peak hours.
- Work efficiently during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12 certificate).
- Previous experience as a cashier.
- Proficiency in English.
- Reside within 15 km of the store location.
- Clear criminal record.
Preferences (Not Required):
- South African citizenship.
- Minimum 1 year of cashier experience.
