Job Description:
Food Lovers Market is seeking a diligent Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers by accurately handling transactions and providing excellent service. You’ll be responsible for managing an electronic point of sale system and maintaining a clean and efficient checkout area. This position reports directly to the Till Supervisor and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate an electronic point of sale (POS) system with an attached scale.
• Accurately process transactions and ensure the correct amount of change is given.
• Maintain balanced cash drawers and manage all payment methods effectively.
• Keep the till area clean and hygienic.
• Provide exceptional and friendly customer service with a positive attitude.
• Stay informed about products, product codes, and current promotions.
• Demonstrate strong communication and time management skills.
• Work efficiently, especially during peak times.

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• Reside within 15km of the job location.
• Clear criminal record.
