Job Description:
As a Cashier at Food Lovers Market, you play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. You’ll be responsible for handling transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. This role reports directly to the Till Supervisor and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an electronic point of sale system (POS) with an attached scale.
- Accurately ring up customer purchases and ensure correct change is given.
- Maintain accuracy with all payment methods and ensure balanced cash-ups.
- Keep the till area clean, organized, and hygienic.
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive attitude.
- Stay informed about products, promotions, and product codes.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Work efficiently, particularly during high-traffic periods.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Previous experience as a cashier.
- Proficiency in English.
- Reside within 15km of the store.
- Clear criminal record.
Preferences:
- South African candidates preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of cashier experience.
