Job Description:
As a Cashier at Food Lovers Market, you play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. You’ll be responsible for handling transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude. This role reports directly to the Till Supervisor and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate an electronic point of sale system (POS) with an attached scale.
  • Accurately ring up customer purchases and ensure correct change is given.
  • Maintain accuracy with all payment methods and ensure balanced cash-ups.
  • Keep the till area clean, organized, and hygienic.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive attitude.
  • Stay informed about products, promotions, and product codes.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Work efficiently, particularly during high-traffic periods.

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Previous experience as a cashier.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Reside within 15km of the store.
  • Clear criminal record.

Preferences:

  • South African candidates preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of cashier experience.
