Ackermans is hiring a dedicated and energetic Cashier to join our team. In this role, you’ll be crucial in delivering an exceptional customer shopping experience by efficiently handling transactions and maintaining high store standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Provide outstanding service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Assist customers in finding products and address any queries or complaints.
- Cashier Duties:
- Accurately process cash and card payments.
- Handle lay-bys and process customer refunds.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor and ensure till balancing.
- Stock Management and Merchandising:
- Ensure stock is correctly priced and well-displayed.
- Maintain product availability on the sales floor.
- Perform housekeeping duties and stay updated on current promotions.
- Risk Management:
- Ensure products are tagged according to company policy.
- Participate in stock takes and monitor for shoplifting or fraudulent activities, reporting any suspicious behavior to management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (fluent in English; additional languages are a plus).
- High energy levels and a strong motivation to achieve targets.
- Previous retail experience is advantageous.
