Your role will involve assisting customers, managing stock, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and supporting the butchery team to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Butchery General Assistant, your daily duties will include:
- Assisting customers with inquiries, offering product recommendations, and providing helpful advice on meat cuts and preparation.
- Ensuring all products are correctly displayed and regularly restocked to meet customer demand.
- Handling cash and card payments, issuing receipts, and processing refunds or exchanges efficiently.
- Receiving deliveries and organizing meat products in the storage area, maintaining strict hygiene standards.
- Helping with stock takes and ensuring inventory levels are accurately recorded.
- Properly disposing of waste and maintaining a clean, sanitized work environment in the butchery section.
- Adhering to health, safety, and food hygiene standards at all times.
- Supporting the butchery team with cutting, packing, and labeling meat products when required.
- Assisting in any additional tasks as directed by the Butchery Manager or supervisors.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Matric certificate.
- The ability to work within 15km of the store.
- A clear criminal record.
- Prior experience in a butchery or food-handling environment is advantageous.
