Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Butchery General Assistant to join our team. As a Butchery General Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the daily operations of the butchery section, ensuring quality service and a seamless customer experience. You will assist with various tasks, including customer service, product handling, and maintaining a clean and organized butchery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Butchery General Assistant, your daily tasks will include:
- Assisting customers with inquiries about meat products, offering suggestions, and providing detailed information on cuts and preparation methods.
- Maintaining an organized and clean butchery environment, including regular cleaning of work areas and equipment.
- Properly handling, packaging, and displaying meat products to ensure freshness and quality.
- Stocking and restocking shelves and fridges with meat products in an organized and appealing manner.
- Assisting with stock takes and managing inventory levels to ensure products are readily available.
- Receiving and organizing deliveries, ensuring all products are stored correctly according to food safety standards.
- Safely disposing of waste according to health and safety regulations.
- Following all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assisting in processing customer payments, issuing receipts, and handling refunds or exchanges when necessary.
Requirements:
To be considered for the role of Butchery General Assistant, you will need:
- A Matric certificate.
- Previous experience as a General Assistant, preferably in a butchery or food retail environment.
- Good communication skills in English.
- A clean criminal record.
- Residence within 15km of the job location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- South African candidates are preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role will be an advantage.
