Shoprite Careers – Branch Manager
Purpose of the Role:
Medirite Plus Parkdene is seeking a dynamic Branch Manager to lead our team and ensure the delivery of exceptional healthcare services and products. The Branch Manager will be responsible for maximizing branch sales, maintaining high standards of shop presentation, and achieving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Maximization:
- Drive branch gross profit through effective management of key sales drivers.
- Maintain stock holding days and adhere to stock ordering parameters.
- Ensure 100% consistency with stock price changes.
- Address and correct sub-standard performance of sales staff.
- Minimization of Wastage and Shrinkage:
- Identify and address wastage as per weekly reports and implement corrective actions.
- Implement measures to minimize shrinkage for high-risk items and other identified products.
- Branch Sales Reporting:
- Provide timely and accurate sales reports to the Regional Retail Manager.
- Identify improvement opportunities and challenges, making recommendations for corrective actions.
- Effective Merchandising and Stock Availability:
- Ensure the branch is merchandised according to company layouts and standards.
- Set up promotional displays as per requirements from buyers, suppliers, and the company.
- Plan, monitor, and maintain consistent stock range availability and manage stock shortages with solutions such as inter-branch transfers.
- Meeting Customer Expectations:
- Enhance customer loyalty by creating a consumer-friendly environment through effective management and processes.
- People Management:
- Lead, motivate, and coach direct reports to meet profitability and customer service standards.
- Oversee training and development of staff and handle disciplinary issues and grievances in a timely manner.
- Housekeeping, Health and Safety, and Compliance Assurance:
- Maintain hygiene and housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to audit standards, legislative, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Essential: Grade 12 qualification.
Experience:
- Essential: At least 2 years of retail sales management or supervisory experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong numeracy and retail sales skills.
- Bilingual, preferably fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- Competent in supervising, leading, and performing administrative tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of payment procedures (e.g., cash, cheque, bank card, credit cards, coupons, vouchers).
- Familiar with supply chain and merchandising standards.
- Knowledgeable about regulatory requirements for Money Market Transactions.
- Sound understanding of safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Experience with branch-specific retail systems (e.g., ShopPos, OBS).
